Celebrate the release of ‘STARBOW’ this Sunday in Shibuya

Come down to Shibuya GLAD on the 5th of February to join the PLASTICZOOMS and help them celebrate the release of their excellent new album Starbow. The show kicks off at 6pm and runs till 10 with live appearances from 13th Moon, Purple, 1984 1/2 and of course PZ. Advance tickets are 2000yen and it’s 2500yen on the door. Tokyo based LONG wearing saturnine rockers PLASTICZOOMS are just about to drop their latest studio album Starbow. Released on the Bounty (バウンディ) label the album as ever has that dark and meditative feel with a few licks of guitar and a whole lot of atmospheric synth, it also features some of our favourite PZ songs including WITCH and KMKZ alongside some newly discovered treats – We particularly like CRY.DISTANCE. check it out above.

DJ A-SO almost came to blows with the Short Pants crew earlier this year, but we’ve patched things up and we’re excited to have him play at the 100% official Short Pants Party this week. He’s a very skilled DJ and a real music-lover, with an encyclopedic knowledge of music which knows no boundaries of taste. We have no idea what he’s going to play, but he’s definitely a great way to kick off a party!

What has been the highlight of your year?
This year I’ve been lucky enough to play with some of the DJs I really admire both from England and Japan, that’s been a big highlight for me!

Nakameguro, relaxing by the river.

DJ SILAS is a young, fashionable DJ who’s been building up respect on the Tokyo scene over the last few years, and also one of the nicest party people we know. After playing a blinder of a set at the last Short Pants Party, we’re hoping for more of the same this Friday.

What is gonna big this Christmas?
Miracle on 34th Street (the movie).

What has been the highlight of your year?
The event which has affected me the most this year has been the Great Kanto Earthquake on 3/11. It has changed my life and changed my way of thinking. It made me think about what people can do to help, and what I can do myself. I also worried about whether my friends were safe or not. But also, some great artists came to Japan this year, especially UK artists such as Kingdom, Girl Unit and Roska. I got a lot of inspiration from them.

Who is your favourite musician of all time?
Tears for Fears, The Stooges, Logic, Tyree, Lone, Ramadanman, A-Trak and too many…

Where’s your favourite place in Tokyo?
Shimokitazawa, for riding on my skateboard.
