The Trip

Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon in ‘The Trip’

Fans of Coogan and Brydon’s work will be no doubt familiar with their highly improvised comedic style, and will not be disappointed with this new six part TV series debuting on BBC Two. The pair have previously appeared together in ‘Tristram Shandy: A Cock And Bull Story‘ in which both Steve and Rob play fictionalised versions of themselves. In this, the not too dissimilar ‘The Trip’ the pair are reunited when Coogan is asked to review a series of restaurants for the Observer, with his girlfriend away on business he asks Brydon to step in and accompany him on the journey while. The humour that ensues encapsulates the best of the pair bouncing off each other with jokes, impressions and pure witt. [Take a look at the clip above where the pair act out a 'Ray Winston-esque' gangster scene.] Directed by Michael Winterbottom. You can watch it on BBC iPlayer now.
