New Single from Little Comets

Little Comets to release ‘Isles’ on October 18th, on Dirty Hit Ltd.

Little Comets are back with a new single on a new label!  Check out the brilliant video, which gives a fair glimpse into the current (sorry) state of the British Isles.

Below is their DIY press note…

“Hello…I suppose that as a rule of thumb, a band writing their own press release isn’t really the best idea, but in comparison to the usual hyperbole sent out by a record label we thought it might be nicer do something a little different.

This is the first single we’ve released since parting company with our old label Columbia at the start of 2010. It’s taken us a while to break from their grizzly clutches as initially they wouldn’t let us have our album back…. but after deciding that it didn’t sound enough like Kei$ha they did…

Anyway… the song is called Isles and I suppose it is just a collection of notes and words that fell out of us when whilst practicing in Gateshead. Like lots of places we’ve travelled to, there a strange disconnect between the people and their environment. Despite the simplification of bleak streets and wild youth, the lyrics can maybe convey the yearning subject matter more accurately. People like Seamus Heaney and John Betjeman have definitely been an influence so they are probably important harbingers for us too.

This is the primary release on a new independent label to which we’ve signed. It’s called Dirty Hit and despite the grime-on-the-wall-of-a-sweaty-club name connotations, they happily share our passions for autonomy, honesty and brevity.

But yeah, hopefully you’ve gotten something from this: the biographical stuff is below. Thanks for reading if you’ve got this far. Fingers crossed you like the track (we put a lot into it) but if not no worries: objectivity is fine.

x”
