“Hello boys and girls in Tokyo.

Spring has come and I’ve selected 5 fresh tunes for you!

1. Babies “Meet me in the city” (Make a mess)- this is a new side project of Cassie from Vivian Girls with Woods. Feels like very wasted and sometimes very cute. Myspace…

2. She And Him “In The Sun” (Merge)- Zooey, she is the actress from (500) Days of Summer. She met M.Ward making music together. This is the lead track for their new album. Sounds like classic golden time of pop music. Myspace…

3. My Teenage Stride “Creep Academy” (Flea Circus)- This band are from the Brooklyn underground scene. Very warm and happy sound so you can’t help loving them! They are good friends with Knight School in Brooklyn, they are ace too! Myspace…

4. Amanda Applewood “Pretend (We’re In Love)” (Too Young Too Die)- girly pop with so twee chorus, that won’t be bad! They are still very mysterious (no picture of her). It makes me turning on her much more. Myspace…

5. The New House “Transparent Box” (Violet And Claire / Second Royal)- they are young folks from Tokyo, I think they are the best band to express Tokyo’s atmosphere to overseas. They performed in SXSW and supported Black Lips in NY. Quite outgoing, but sounds are very fuzzy geeky pop tune, that’s why I love them so much. Myspace…

Sumire x”
