Kimihiko Okada’s Kujyukuri House

Japanese Architect Kimihiko Okada designed this spiraling boundary wall house in Chiba.

Designed to fit the lifestyle of the retired client, Okada has come up with this simple house which uses its boundary wall to spiral into the dwelling creating unique rooms and spaces inside.

The house is functions as a living room, bedroom, work place, car park and yard and are all contained within the boundary wall which rises around the property to the very center of the home. Okada’s brief was simple – to create a dwelling that the client could live in for the rest of their life with a low build cost. See Kimihiko Okada Online. More pictures in the gallery.
